Giant Pandas live in China. Giant pandas are active at any time of the day or night. They are capable of climbing trees. Their body length is 160-190cm.             

The giant panda is endangered. There are only about 1,000 left in the wild!

Pandas can eat between 12 and 38kg of bamboo every 24 hours. Pandas spend over 60% of their life eating. This is about 14 hours a day. They eat bamboo but this is low in nutrients (the good stuff in food).

Pandas face the problem of the bamboo being cut down. Without bamboo they have no food. They are no longer hunted but still endangered because they have a limited diet and their food source is disappearing.

We need to save the bamboo to save the giant panda.
